Lonely but never Alone.

Dearest most connected You.

It is a good morning, yes?

As you become aware of your breathing: your inhale; your exhale, allow yourself to relax into a feeling of optimism and hopefulness for the day ahead…

Today is a good day to recognize the difference between feeling Lonely and feeling Alone.

We all have moments of feeling Lonely.  For us human beings, this feeling is inevitable.

Although we don’t need research to convince us, studies actually do prove that we are hard-wired for connection with other human beings.  It is a natural, psychological, and physiological need, starting when we are infants when being connected and bonding with our primary care-givers is crucial for survival.

So, as Adults, our need may not be as intense as when we were small, however, the absence of the connection we now want creates a very real, very human, feeling of Loneliness.

It is painful.

Of course, since we are no longer defenseless and dependent children, feeling the discomfort of Loneliness does not truly threaten our survival.  Feeling Lonely passes.

We wake up the next day, a friend calls, you email your brother, your boss invites you to a company dinner, you wave to your neighbor, the grocer makes eye contact and smiles.  Your Loneliness ebbs.  And then it flows again.  Ah…being human…we ride the waves.  Painful, but not devastating.

On the other hand, there is a more intense pain that we experience when we feel Alone.

Feeling Alone tells us we have lost access to the Source of our Essence Selves: our Higher Power; God; the energy of the Universe; Life Itself.

When we feel disconnected from Life Itself, we experience a despair that can feel hopeless, heavy and dark.   This can feel devastating. Yes, of course it does, the Light is being blocked…

There is a distinct difference between these two experiences; feeling Lonely and feeling Alone.

Accepting Loneliness as a natural human response to having a desire for a deeper connection with another human being when this is not available, can help us feel the feeling and allow it to flow through us.

Feeling Alone may not pass as easily as feeling Lonely; but we can shift this feeling ourselves if we become aware and take action.

not-alone-with-sunWe need to un-block the Light.

We need to re-open the channels for Love to come through.

We need to re-access our Source.

Bring yourself out into Nature…go for a walk, sit on the beach, take a hike.

Listen to music…you know the kind that transports you.

Exercise…something physical that takes you into the zone.

Be creative…paint, write, sculpt, draw, sing, dance, play your instrument.

Hold a baby…feel the purest Essence energy there is in human form.

Be still, be slient…meditate, pray, breathe consciously, do yoga.

Communicate deeply with another…express your vulnerability, tell your truth, hold a hand, hug a body, kiss mindfully, make love with your eyes open.

Remember that you may sometimes feel lonely, but you are never truly alone if you keep your heart, your mind, your soul open to the Flow of Life.

If you slow down enough today, you will remember that you know this already.

Slow down.  Remember.

Rain makes me feel less alone. All rain is, is a cloud- falling apart, and pouring its shattered pieces down on top of you. It makes me feel good to know I’m not the only thing that falls apart . It makes me feel better to know other things in nature can shatter.”  ~ Lone Alaskan Gypsy

Breathe consciously, feel your connection to Source:

I am brilliant;

I am magnificent;

I am a being of Love and Light.

I am here to bring my Essence Self to every experience of my Life.
