What’s Your Vibe?
It’s been really interesting sitting with you these last several months…
Don’t get me wrong, it has always been interesting being with you, but more than ever, with each day, and each interaction I have with you, I am invited into deeper reflection and discovery.
The state of the world has become so unpredictable, so unfamiliar, so scary in so many ways.
And it really doesn’t matter where you land on the political spectrum; we are all trying to find some sense of normalcy and reliability so we can feel safe again.
We need to believe those who are telling us the things that make us feel safe, even if we become enraged at the same time. Anger feels safer than powerlessness.
Is it any wonder then that we sometimes get lost in our own personal relationships?
We are trying to keep our kids on track so they can have a happy, solid, productive future;
We are trying to please our partners and at the same time feel satisfied and fulfilled in our own personal ways;
We are trying to be kind to our neighbors, even those who think differently, look differently, pray differently, love differently;
We are trying to slow down, create quality time with our loved ones, focus on the things that give us joy;
We are trying to fit all of this into a 14-20 hour day so we can give ourselves an uninterrupted block of sleep time;
If all of these things were the only things to focus on, it would be challenging enough, right?
However, because the nature of life itself has become less reliable, and way more fast-paced, stressful, confusing, and uncertain, the foundation we used to be able to fall back on doesn’t exist in the same way any more. So it is even harder to manage.
Can we all agree on that?
We don’t have to judge this as good or bad, or right or wrong.
We don’t have to blame one political party or the other.
We don’t have to find an enemy.
We can simply acknowledge that things have changed, and it is impossible to go back in time to a reality that no longer exists.
From this place of truth, if we can accept it as such, we can breathe and find the only solid ground there is: Presence.
When we breathe into our Wise Adult selves, reassure our Protector Parts, and comfort our Wounded Child parts, Presence becomes available to us.
Presence is the one thing that is true.
I am.
Right here.
Right now.
Some may call this place of connection God.
Some may simply call it Life Source.
Some may describe it as True Nature.
It doesn’t matter what you call it.
You know it when you feel it because everything slows down.
Everything feels calm because you have surrendered your control to something greater than yourself.
It doesn’t mean bad things don’t or won’t happen.
It just means that you are being held and supported in a space of Grace to find your way through all the turmoil as a natural process of expressing your Highest Self.
You were born like an acorn destined to become an Oak Tree.
Under the right conditions, there is no extra effort required.
Can you believe that you too, are here to become the fullest expression of your Highest Self?
If so, your only job is to participate with Life and simply make sure the best conditions exist for this Fullest and Highest Self to “potentiate” into the You you were born to be.
So, what are those best conditions?
Taking care of all your parts, and all the layers of your health:
Body, mind, and spirit.
Get enough sleep.
Eat well.
Take care of and move your body.
Connect with those you love.
Slow down.
Be still.
Connect with Presence.
Remember why you are here.
You may need to make some changes.
